Paris with Max
by Deborah Lyons, New York, NY

A happy reader revisits her favorite haunts in Paris and sees them anew through the eyes of a three-year-old son.

I wanted other families to know about our wonderful trip to Paris with Max, then 3-years-old. We stayed in an okay hotel and really enjoyed seeing the city through a child's eyes. For Max, the best part of the trip was seeing the many new sights. He loved the Armour Museum at the Place des Invalides, the playground at the Jardin des Tuileries (you pay a small entry fee), the Science Museum, and the carousels throughout Paris.

Unfortunately, there was a lot of rain and bad weather during our visit, but it made a magical rainbow at the Eiffel Tower. We all loved eating everything in Paris, and Max was very well behaved at the best restaurants. Other family highlights were going up to the top of the Eiffel Tower and visiting the zoo at the Jardin des Plantes.

His parents thought the palace at Versailles was beautiful and enjoyed the daytrip, but I know it got boring for Max. (It would have been more fun if he'd had some friends with him.) All in all, just like us, he thought every day in Paris was a real treat!!!
