![]() Resort at Split Rock, Poconos, Pennsylvania

We went to the Split Rock Resort in the western Poconos the other weekend. It was a nice resort and we had a great time. The room was nice in the fact that it had a kitchenette in it, so we didn't have to eat all our meals out at their three restaurants and pizzeria. They did have just about everything you could ask for, as far as activities go. Everything they advertised at Split Rock as an outdoor activity, they also had indoors: basketball, tennis, pool. The current-run movie theater was great for our family, as was the bowling alley and ice cream parlor. 1. How incredibly spread out the complex is. From our room it was a 5-10 minute walk down to the activities center. And with a toddler, it was not very stroller-friendly. I guess it needs to be spread out, as you wouldn't want your room above the arcade/bowling area. 2. The indoor pool area. It had ceramic tiles making the floor very slippery when wet. 3. They should have an Infant or 0 to 4-year-old Mommy and Me play time once a day. They certainly had the available space to do it, where they could have an indoor play area for very small kids. Split Rock has various activities for all ages during the day as part of their planned activities. 4. We wish the summer weather had been nicer....yes, I know they had nothing to do with that! Thanks to the FTF staff for the help in selecting this vacation. It is a great resort -- but for families with slightly older children.
